I need to make a robot/ actuator that can push a emgergenct Shutoff button from a computer posib over internet
I need to make something that can "push" an emergency shuttoff button on a CNC Machine...I need to be able to shut it off from about 30 miles away, either over my website/internet or by calling or something?

Best way I can see... Use a 12VDC push solenoid hooked to a 12 volt source. Use a cell phone car starter (used to start your car using your cell phone from inside you home for example.) The cell phone car starter simply has a relay it clicks. This relay gets tied to the 12VDC push solenoid and when you call the remote car start, it energizes the solenoid which punches the stop switch on the CNC. Pretty easy setup, and is done with all off the shelf items. If you cant find a push solenoid in the power you need.... you can use a pull solenoid which go past 100lbs of pull force... use the pull motion in line with a bellcrank and you have your push motion. A bellcrank is simply a "bar" with a piviot in the middle, so that when you pull one side, the opposite side is doing a pushing motion.

also if you want to get really fancy you could actually make it restart the machine by using an electronic device called a bi-stable flip flop...
