Truck A/C stuck on warm?
I drive a 1999 F-150.
About a week ago, my air conditioner stopped responding to any changes on the temperature knob. It makes no difference where the knob is. Whether it is set on the extreme hot or cold setting, the air comes out warm. Because I can't even get hot air and there was no decline in the A/C leading up to this, I am asuming the problem rests with the temperature knob or some compenent downstream of it.
I am hoping someone can give me some insight as to where I should start looking. Would this be caused by a failed potentiometer in the dial? Or maybe some actuator under the hood?
Thanks.
your truck uses vaccum pressure to move the fins regulating cold/how setting, so before you go and buy something new look under the dash and under the hood for broken or loose vaccum lines.
