Can I use an axial lead capacitor instead of a radial lead one to fix my tv?
I have a 37" magnavox LCD tv that has 2 capacitors that are bad in the power supply. I want to replace these capacitors but the only replacement ones I've been able to find at radioshack have axial leads. The ones in the tv are radial. Is it okay to use the axial ones if there's enough room in the tv as long as everything else matches?
Yes, I got the 35v. The real concern I have is how the leads have to be bent to get down and through the holes on the board. I'm concerned with the bare leads being exposed too. Is this safe? what can I do to cover them? or insulate them?
As long as they are of the same type (electrolytic, paper, etc.) and the same ratiing (capacity and voltage) it should not matter. The only real problem that could come in would be in a tuned circuit which the power supply is not.
