The ball bearing thing at the end of tube carriage?
If you stand at the end of a tube carriage above the door at either end is a metal plate with a large grey ball in it.
What's it for?
Andrew: The ball is about 8cm wide and is on the inside and above the rear door.
Fast Reg: Its definitely just a grey ball, it could be a housing for CCTV but they simply never installed the CCTV on the line I use and left the grey ball in there to fill the gap?
The ball bearing allows the two carriages to move independently. This means that when the train goes around a corner the carriages can bend. xxx
