Recessed 40" LCD TV wall mounting.?
I plan to install a 40" LCD TV at my lake cabin. I want to recess it into a non load bearing wall and mount it on rails so that it can be pulled out for viewing and pushed back into the wall when not in use. I plan to hang a picture over it when it is slid into the wall and not in use. Has anyone seen or actually built an application like this? I can accomadate a couple of inches on the backside of the wall for the slides and the TV to fully retract.
Thanks,
Jeff
It's kind of hard to visualize what you're trying to do without actually being there, but if there are 2x4s that are 16" on center, you could use an extending articulating wall mount, so you won't even have to worry about custom building some rails for the TV. Sanus makes a good extending wall mount.. model # VMAA18. With this mount, you could pull the TV in and out.
Sanus also makes a pull out mount that slides in and out. I think the model # is VMPO.
