How can I split line audio with diodes?
Basically I have a project where I require amplified Mono audio and also line level Stereo from the same source.
I have a TDA2005 which I am using in bridged mode for my mono output but I also want to have the audio coming out of two phono jacks at line level. They will not be both used at the same time.
I figure since the line audio would go the the phono jacks before the amp, I would use diodes to make sure it doesn't feed back into the phonos but are they even required? If so, what value and type should I be using?
I should note the source audio is line out from a PC soundcard.
Diodes will make a mess of audio signals, I think they would be a very poor choice in this application (thought they might be fine if operating relays or lighting indicator lamps in a DC circuit)
Resistors would be the simplest solution, they will of course result in some losses and increase the crosstalk in the stereo output. Depending on the relative impedance's the problems may or may not be significant.
