I what to build a headlamp for caving and want a lightwieght, super bright light that will shine for hours.?
Over the last 3 years I have gone through dozens of headlamps. I have considered something that produces a super bright, white light, that is lightweight, and shines for hours without having to recharge or replace batteries. Any suggestions? What is the brightest bulb that will also fit in a head lamp? Any suggestions on making it brighter? Savoring energy ect?
The one way to get more brightness is to use capacitors ...
they use them on the flashing lights for bicycles..
The light is lit by a capacitor the capacitor charges slowly but discharges fast throught hte light..
if you had a few such capacitors each in a different state of charge you could probably increase your light without draining the battery any more
Hard to get more of both...
You can get more light with same battery life
or more battery life with same intensity
but to get both is asking for free..
HAVE YOU TRIED... wire powered lamps
they have a wire spring .. you crank it for a certain time and they unwind slowly over hours or minutes
that usually provides unlimited power if you dont mind using your arms on occassion..
Just a thought ... hope you have good luck with that..
