I have a red couch what color should i paint my walls besides white?
My husband and I just bought our first house and want to make it unique, no more white walls. We want to paint our living room bright and warm but we think we limited ourselves by getting a red couch. Please let us give us some helpful advice
Of course, it all depends on what shade of red you're talking about. If you're looking for a "warm" feeling, then a deep, rich color may work. Some sort of gold/green tone could be OK, unless your red is "bright". Also, a shade of tan, perhaps with a touch of orange might give you the feel you want.
I like to paint my house a lot and really enjoy taking chances with color. I go to someplace like Lowe's or Home Depot and go to the paint department. I get dozens of samples of what I think might work for a particular room and take them home. hold them up next to the other items in the room. I tape the promising ones to the wall and look at in different light conditions. If I'm not sure about any choice that I make, I go buy a quart and paint part of a wall then decide if I want to commit to it.
I'm with you about white walls - how boring! It's your house. Paint it however you like and enjoy it.
