Heavy rattling/thudding sound from wall when I turn off bath faucet?
Whenever I turn off my bathtub tap, there is a heavy repeating thudding sound coming from the wall behind the shower (the wet wall). It only happens just before the tap is fully closed.
I think this is either something wrong in the connector to the shower head, or in the pressured lines coming to the tub (maybe one broke a clamp). Anyone seen or heard this before? I can't easily get to the plumbing from the other side of the wall (and not at all from the tub side), so I want a better consensus of what I am dealing with.
My guess is unsecured pipes in the wall. IF that is the case then no *shock arrestor* is going to solve it. Since you said you CAN see them from the back side, reach in and try to wiggle them around. If they move, you have your answer. If they don't, and they seem secure, then the arrestors may be in order.
