which burns less energy - LED lighting or Compact Florescent?
When you compare light output apples to apples then the CFL has a big lead.
A CFL producing 60 watts of useable light takes 14 watts while to get an LED to do the same takes 11 watts.
The problem I have found using LED's is that the light is pure white, almost like moonlight where a CFL is a more yellow light that fills a space much better.
An LED works good for close work or background light but the CFL is better all around and the energy savings is negledgable.
Now the cost is where the two really part ways, my 60 watt LED was wholesale $69.00 while the CFL is a little over a buck.
