Does anyone know of a purely breath controlled wind instrument?
By that, I mean some sort of horn or flute where the key and pitch are only determined by the velocity of your breath... not by keys, pads, valves, or holes? It may have holes for air distribution, but not to alter the sound.
Perhaps belonging to an indigenous, tribal people in a given place?
An Indian instrument called SHENAI - which is purely breah controll. Then there is a very small and crude thing - wonder what it is called, a thin sheet of rubber between two very small pieces of bamboo, tied at both ends. You just blow into it. Then there is Harmonica (Mouth Organ) - which is again purely breath controlled, hands giving it a beat and guidance only.
