What kind of charger do I need for a Craftsman 82289 Multimeter?
I have a Craftsman Professional model 82289 Multimeter which runs off of 6 x 1.5V size AA batteries. The unit has to be exhaustively disassembled to replace the batteries, but it provides an AC adapter connector on the outside, with a warning label indicating that the adapter should not be used with Alkaline (non-rechargeable) batteries.
This seem to imply that an AC adapter could be used to charge rechargeable AA batteries without removing them, but there's no indication as to an appropriate voltage, polarity, or minimum current.
I do not still have the manual for the meter (which I recall was written in useless broken Chinese/English), but I know it never came with an AC adapter. I've been unable to find the manual online.
Does anybody know what adapter would be appropriate, or where I could find the original documentation?
More than likely 9v. There should be a voltage and polarity marking close to the charger port, if that is what it really is
