No tools in the MARINE CORPS to do my job, had to use my teeth to strip a wire, and much more? How do I get ?
When I was in the field we have one set of wire cutters and I have been borrowing my Corporal's Gerber. But we need wire strippers, volt tester which we do not rate. I went to our Corporal went to my SGT, went to a SSGT, and went to my Gunny. so I used the chain of command but last time I was was in the field I used my teeth to strip the wire, and to find the live wire I was grabbing two ends of the wire and zapping myself which was not much fun at all. LOL I am being serious lol The reason we do not rate some of the tools cause our unit is so small.

I am in the Army, not too sure how the marine core works.. Sounds like you did you part by letting your chain of command know what you need to get the job done. Now they need to do their part. If my Soldier came to me with an issue like that I would request the part through the Company supply Sergeant. Pretty much all tools are class II items and supply usually has a class II account so they should be able to get it if I can provide a NSN. If that didn’t work id ask the Company credit card holder to buy the tools needed through a local dealer like NAPA or AutoZone. If that didn’t work id have to suck it up and buy my Joe the tools he needs to do the job I’m asking him to do… Worst case, buy the tools yourself. I have done it before, I’m sure I’ll do it again. Sometimes that’s just the way things go..
