Probability distribution question !! Please help!! I don't know where to start!?
A stud of consumer habits indicates that 20% of all shoppers in a certain city rad the unit pricing labels on product packages before deciding which product to buy. Two customers are observed shopping in a food store in the city. Consider the discrete random variable, u, the number of shoppers who use the unit pricing information.
Create the theoretical probability distribution for u.

You're probably over-thinking this.
There can be either 0, 1, or 2 shoppers who use the unit pricing information.
The prob that it's 0 shoppers is the prob of the event that neither of the two use the info, which is (.8)(.8) = 0.64.
The prob that it's 2 shoppers is the prob of the event that both of the two use the info, which is (.2)(.2) = 0.04.
Hence the prob that it's 1 shopper is the prob that remains, namely 1 - (0.64 + 0.04) = 1 - 0.68 = 0.32. And yes, it's also the prob that A does and B doesn't plus the prob that A doesn't and B does, which is
(.2)(.8) + (.8)(.2) = 2(.16) = 0.32. Yay us!
