Help Reading Ceramic Capicitor Value?
I'm assembling a pcb that came with the book 123 Robotics Experiments for the Evil Genius, and one of the components calls for two 0.01 pF capacitors. I've only used electrolyic capacitors before and I need some help reading the ceramic capacitors.
Also if anybody is familiar with this book and/or assembled this pcb before, could you tell me where you found the components because none of my local radio shacks or electronic stores have most of the parts, only the basic ones. Thanks a lot.
You can order the missing parts on digikey.com
To read the capacitor value:
- The first two digits are the value in picoFarads (10^-12)
- The third digit is the multiplier
So, if the capacitor reads 103, you get:
10 picoFarads x 10^3 = 0.00000001 = 0.01uF
Are you sure you are looking for a 0.01pF capacitor? The correct value is probably 0.01uF.
