Visual Fault Locator Designed for Network Applications
Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com) has rolled out an easy-to-use visual fault locator with an output power of 1.8mW for use in SM or MM fiber testing. It detects breaks and serious bend points in fiber optic cables and identifies fiber in ribbon or bundled fiber optic pigtails in installations where identifying a fiber from end to end may be troublesome or time-consuming. The visual fault locator is an ideal solution for engineers and technicians working on fiber optic networks, telecommunication and CATV maintenance.
This portable visual fault locator, model A0680001, supports mechanical fusion splice optimization and locates faults at a distance of up to 5km from the source. It has an auto-off function which kicks in within 10 minutes of inactivity and is able to operate continuously for up to 25 hours on a single charge. This visual fault locator has an FC adapter compatible with both SC and ST connectors. The fault locator's durability, portability and high efficiency make it an invaluable instrument for field use.
