help me about front panel audio connections?
am using intel DG31PR desktop motherboard. It has Intel high definition audio driver. I have a problem with front panel audio header.
My motherboard has the following pins:
Pin Signal Name Pin Signal Name
1 PORT 1L 2 GND
3 PORT 1R 4 PRESENCE#
5 PORT 2R 6 SENSE1_RETURN
7 SENSE_SEND 8 KEY (no pin)
9 PORT 2L 10 SENSE2_RETURN
My compute casing has following connections:
1.mic power(L)------orange wire
2.line out FR---------red wire
3.line out RR--------blue wire
4.line out FL--------white wire
5.line out RL---------yellow wire
6.mic in(R)-----------green wire
7.GND----------------black wire
The line out FR& line out RR has one female jack and the line out FL & line out RL has one female jack.
I don't know how to match the mother board header and casing connections to obtain audio from front panel audio.
Your description sounds like you are looking at the connections on the back of the motherboard. You connect the front audio wires to pins located within the part of the motherboard that is inside the case, rather than to the connections that protrude from the I/O shield. The audio pins are labeled. They may be near the connections for the other front case connections such as the power switch, hard drive LED, and reset switch. Or, they may be located towards the back by the PCI buses. Either way, look at the pins on the motherboard and read the small type beside them to find the ones labeled audio.
