Troubleshooting a Solid State Pinball Machine ?

I have a 1977 Solid State (SS) version pinball machine of "Night Rider" made by Bally. I power up the machine and get the playfield and backboard to light up and that's it. The self test light on the MPU which is supposed to flash X 7 is solid, no flash. I've checked my voltages per the manual at the MPU, lamp board and power board and all check out. I don't know where to go from here, any suggestions? Thanks!
I was able to get the machine to fire up (wiggle them wires on the power supply and mpu), now I've got pop ups and a couple of bumpers needing work...minor, thanks!

"Playfield and backboard light up" really doesn't tell you anything, as you've already figured out. You are moving in the right direction by checking voltages on the MPU, and the fact that you know that the self-test light should be flashing seven times is good -- you've done your homework!

Unfortunately, no flashes at all is probably the toughest situation to resolve. There's a good possibility that battery corrosion has damaged part of the circuitry. (See that ni-cad battery soldered directly onto the board?) Ni-cads were never meant to stand-up to decades of abuse (i.e., overcharging) inside a hot pinball machine, and chances are good (which is bad for you) that it has leaked, causing destruction to components and/or the circuit board itself. But with some grit and determination, you may be able to fix it.
