Cost of helmet in Canada for infant flat head & does Blue Cross Alberta cover any part of cost?
Going in to see if my child needs a helmet for his flat head.Cannot find anywhere on the net a Canadian answer for this question.
My son had plagiocephaly and his head was growing flat. He wore a helmet from the age of 3 months to 12 months.
His head is still slightly mishapen (he is now 10 yrs old) but because he worse a helmet we managed to avoid having any surgery.
We got his helmets (they were remade every 6 weeks as his head grew) from the Royal Children's Hospital in Victoria, Australia and we never had to pay any money at all for them.
Do you have any Children's Hospitals where you live? If so get a referral to an Orthoptist (I think that is what they are called) and go from there.
