CAR TROUBLE=losses power on high raves ,20mph slower!?
when revving over 4000rpm the car stops power completely for 2 seconds then comes back on again .keeps doing it, my red line nois is not a constant , revrevrevrev, its a reeeevvvv revvvvv reevvvvv. plus i have lost 20mph top speed and accelaration is poor, plus when driving at around 3-4000rpm n fith ,sumtimes happens in lower gears,the car shudders like looses power on and off makes a strange noise too when it shudders, i have a 1 week old heavy duty clutch so cant be that tested it too, however i messed about with the air intake system is it possible to ecu is all confused about the extra air or iv knocked out a sensor? thanks. also just fitted new fuel pump and filter,still no luck.
Once had a foam type air filter that was supposed to be a power adder. Instead it worked great in neutral with the hood up and floor borded all the way to red line. But on the track under LOAD it needed even more air to create power and the dang foam air filter would implode and no air. Lost power, etc. The only way I found the problem was on a dyno with load and a test driver while I watched under the hood. Jeeeeze what a PITA mystery that was. So, if you messed with the air intake system start at the filter and work back. Good luck.
