Dell Computer Upgrades (memory and Dvd-rom?
Im looking to do some self improvements on my Dell Home computer. I have done minor computer repair in the past but want to make sure i dont jack stuff up. I have a Dimension 1100 Series, Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.8GHz with 1MB cache,Not RoHS Compliant
512MB, Non-ECC, 400MHz DDR 1x512 .
I want to upgrade memory to 1g. I havent opened up my computer yet but is it two 256's currently and should it be fine by putting in two 512's?
I also want to add a dvd-rom to complement my current drive, there are slots for it, how easy is that instalation?
Is there any good websites to find easy to follow directions?
Any advise?

it will be cheaper for you to go to crucial software, dell is more expensive. It is easy to install the memory but you have to buy 2 / 512 cards you probably only have two slots in your tower and you cant have mismatched memory
