Is it a good idea to cut a bargraph LED?

I want to fit a couple led's on a protoboard for my Arduino but they won't fit. I only need 1.5 anyway and I was wondering if I can cut through it or should I find another way to make it work.

I checked the application PDF file and it looks like there is no interconnections in the bargraph LED so you should not have any trouble if you cut it. You just have to be careful how you cut it so you don't damage the display.
