I need to know which numbered contacts pair up with each other on DPDT switches?
I've looked around for a bit, and I've been led to crazy diagrams with dots and zigzags and I really don't need that.
I have a dpdt switch and I really only need a spst switch, but they didn't have any with a high enough amperage for me. Also, it is an ON none ON toggle. But I just want to use it as an on off.
In short, I want to use a dpdt as an spst, but i don't know A) if that is possible, and B) which numbers are paired up to each other
it has connects labeled like this in an array:
1 4
2 5
3 6
And all I want to know is that if I hook up one end of a circuit to 1, what do I hook the other end up to so that it will complete the circuit, AND be on in one position of the toggle, and off in the other?
2 & 5 will be the common terminals
3 & 6 will be the NO (normally open)
1 & 4 will be the NC (normally closed)
In your case, connect one wire to #2, and the other to #3. If the switch is in the 'off' position when the circuit is connected, turn the switch upside down or change the wire from #3 to #1.
