How can I load someones cell phone in the Philippines from the US ?
What websites can I use where my credit card will be safe and I will actually get what I pay for ?
If your a member of a Philippines based bank such as Metrobank or Bank of the Philippines you can purchase loads online at the banks web site. Check your RP base bank online features to determine if they offer online loads. Many RP base banks offer this service.
You can have a friend or family member living in the Philippines purchase a load and send you the card numbers. If you do this method get the most from your money and buy the 300 Peso minimum load, unless you have plans in using roaming features to make expensive text to the Philippines.
Check with Smart and Globe links below. Also there are various web sites that cater to Smart, Globe and Sun cell phone users abroad. Do yourself and read the fine print. Though many of these outfits can load your SIM abroad, there are some times restrictions on how long the loads are good for.
From many many years of experience, it is best to purchase a load through your RP based bank that has online SIM load offers or through a relative. The reason for this is because the loads are good for sixty days, where as with many of the other sites who offer loads abroad, the loads do not last as long.
Also keep in mind its gets expensive using roaming feature to send text to the Philippines. It is much less expensive to use Yahoo or Chikka to send unexpensive text or a local cell carrier with a cheap International text plan.
My wife and I use T-Mobile Pre-paid because loads are good for 12 months. Loads can be carried over to the new year as long as you reload before the end of the 12th month. T-Mobile chages $0.15 per text. We have an RP based SIM card to receive text, and will use Yahoo or Chikka to send free text or if away from the computer, we will use T-Mobile. We also count the number of our RP SIM card text we send, making sure we do not go over the 300 Peso load limit. if you do this your SIM card will no longer work and you must purchase a new SIM card (you can buy at ebay.com) or have relative go to the carrier in the Philippines to fix the accunting problem with carrier.
Use your RP SIM just to receive text. Purchase the cheapest load that will last sixty days for 300 Pesos. Lesser amount loads do not last sixty days, they expire
