Volkswagen Sharan Electrical fault, starting problem?

hi, i have a VW sharan, the radio and central locking have stopped working, then the battery appeared to be flat, i got a new one, and all was fine for a day, then radio and locking stopped working once more and two weeks later I cannot start it. also the lights that illuminate the heating controls have stopped working too.
Does anyone have any ideas?

sounds like the battery is going flat so very likely to be a short circuit or earth leakage running battery charge down. hence Ok when jump started and going flat again very soon ( for a new battery!)
could be an alternator diode failed but you need to have checks carried out, such as putting a meter ( milliamp) in series with battery and earth ,then checking each circuit by pulling the fuse one at a time and replacing. note milliamp usage.
when it stops! or drops a lot we can then assume that circuit is the problem area. ( carry on until all circuits have been checked.)
we can then check out wiring and components to pinpoint problem.
normally an auto electrician is best bet here.
