Can I do Matched pair t-test with 2 different sample numbers..please help?
For example, Grades of 300 students from Stats class are choosen who has similar back ground in education. 250 students have never taken stats in high school and 50 students have taken stats in high school. If I want to compare the grades of 2 sample group & find out if 50 students who have taken stats in high school have higher grade than 250 students who have never taken stats. Can I do matched pair test. I m comfused because the sample numbers are not equal one is 50 and another one has 250 numbers. PLEASE HELP
Forgot to add, These samples are from statistics class from University. Comparing grades of students who have taken stats in high school or who have never taken
If the problem tells you to use matched pairs, there's is probably some way to do it. But this doesn't really look like a matched pairs problem; it looks like you should be able to use the ordinary two-sample t-test.
