Should i report this? Horses being neglected.?
a woman keeps her two horse at our barn when she is here she hardly touches them and their stalls go weeks without being cleaned, To the point where mold and mushrooms have started to grow. I've caved in and cleaned them a few times. But whe she does clean them she doesn't put enough wood shavings and its fithy again in less than a week. She switches their food from one brand to the next and refuses to listen to any advice. She leaves the halters on and the one filly has sores on her face from it digging into her face. I want to call on them and get these horses better care but do i even have a case? Her kid lives right down the road and can't coem down to feed or play or doing anything with the pony she calls hers? I think this is wrong but can i do anything? Please help!!
If you try to talk to her she blows you off. The only reason the horses aren't starving is because i feed them and i can't bring myself not to. I mean its not their fault.
I assume when you say "our barn", you mean you board at the same barn, and are not the owner? If you own the barn, then you can control whatever goes on there. If not, you can either approach the barn owner with your concerns, talk to the woman yourself, or call the SPCA and ask them if there is anything they can do.
