Can I replace my cars key ignition with a momentary switch?
The reason I ask is because the ignition is really tore up, and I often cant start the car, Id rather just have a pushbutton to start the car, is this possible and how would I go about doing this, do I have to pull the ignition out or can I bypass that anyway?
Standard ignition switch is a multipole switch, used to connect multiple components either to the positive or negative poles of the battery system. While you could use multiple switches to substitute, it really makes no sense at all when you can obtain a replacement switch quite easily. Try your friendly neighborhood wrecker or if you are flush, a new one from the vehicle dealer.
