Central heating or thermostat... DIY?
Last two years we have had to call out someone for the heating.
Pump changed: completely ridiculously overcharged by Aspect Maintenance; and then just flicking a switch I couldn't see... felt like an IDIOT!!!!
This year - same problem: Hot water: no CHeating.
Symptoms:
Pump doesn't make a noise.
Thermostat in hall clicks when I increase the temperature
Radiators all open.
Solution:
I have a voltage multimeter (left by a friend) Would I be able to determine what is not working or where the problem is and then fix myself? And how....
The pump is a Grundfors Selectric - I have taken off the top screw and 'cleaned' (there is not much space to clean).
Boiler is an Ideal Mexico 2; and there is a separate hot water tank in the cupboard.
Excuse the questions but I come from a warmer climate...and this is all foreign to me.
If the water is heating then the problem is not with the boiler. If the pump was replaced last year then its not likely to be that but it cant be over looked. The most likely fault is in the motorised valve. If you have a 3 port or 2-2 port valves then its more than likely that the sychronic motor has failed and needs replaced.
