what is with the time period for current readings on a multimeter?
in physics lab we have left multimeters that are set on volts and current attached to the circuit for long periods of time and didnt have problems.
but now im seeing this 15 sec intervals and such for current readings in some multimeters. what is up with that? does this mean i can leave a multimeter attached anymore like we did in lab?

This meter shuts down after 10 minutes so taking a current reading longer than that will be interrupted when the meter shuts down. Normally you can turn this auto power down feature off so continuous measurements are possible. Continuous measurement is allowed <5A, but for currents between 5-10A it says the continuous measurement has to be <10 sec and "interval more than 15 minutes." This manual is poorly translated. I believe it is more of a safety issue than a constraint within the meter.
