If u sell the shares to company under the buy back scheme, u dont pay STT and as such u have to pay long term capital gains Tax, even though your have held these shares for more than a year. But if u sell these shares in market through NSE or BSE and pay STT. capital gains tax is not payable.
now compare the market rate and buy back rate and decide for yourself.I think selling in market will be better.
