subwoofer decibals!!!!!!!!!!!?
um my friend says he has 4 type r 15 inch subwoofers running on 2 capacitors and i think 2 amps running on 4 ohms idk what kind of box he has but probably ported and um he is claiming that he is hitting 163.5 on the meter so is this evern possible if so how and any help is greatly appreciated
i know it is possible but i want to know if its possible with this system bc i dont think it is bc they are not very competetive subwoofers and just doesnt seem like enough wattage and is wired in 4 ohms
fi btls are very good competetive subwoofers alpine type r are just normal little subs
Ya, it's possible. But, with a system like that I think he'd have a trophy or two. The highest ever recorded dB rating was 177.7dB. The way to achieve a high dB rating is from many factors: imaging of vehicle, wattage, box build quality, Hz the port is tuned to, etc.
