how to test a relay?
I have a fuel pump relay, I think it's dead. How can I test this with an ohm meter?
there is no diagram...it's a black cover on the relay. I have 4 pins to work with, can you elaborate to find out which ones are the open ones
Back probe the output from the relay with a vom meter, then turn on the key to see if you get output voltage. Can't leave the key on too long as they system will sence a no crank and turn off the fuel pump automatically. If you have a Ford or a vehicle with an inertia type switch so when the vehicle is bumped or hit the switch turns off the fuel pump. to correct you need to reset the switch. Check you owners manual for location. Usually center under dash or right side.
