IVF Progesterone / PIO Shot Blood Drawback ....?
I am currently giving myself the progesterone shot, and when I drewback to see if there was blood/hit a vein it was clear so I proceeded to inject the oil, but when I took out the needle and looked at the syringe I saw a few tiny bubbles of blood in the syringe.... has anyone else had this? Does this mean I did hit a vein? This confuses me because when I drewback it was clear....
No worries. You probably just nicked a vein. I've done it {or my husband has 
} a few times. As long as you draw back and it is clear, it's good to go. Another tip: If you do draw back blood, change the needle (has not happened to me) and if you do hit a vein and start bleeding badly, don't worry about not getting in enough progesterone. It's in. You don't need to do another injection.
