dell computer fan?
i am so confused right now....( i got a dell e510)
i was replacing my cpu fan...i took the fan holder thing out and put the new one in. the fan that i bought was a 3 and 4 pin connector, the fan that was in my computer was a 5pin. when i turned on my computer i got an error message saying something about my cpu fan, thus leading me to believe that it is because of the 5pin slot not being used. the fan lit up and blew air and i could even change the settings(it was a three speed) i tried a antec 120mm 3 speed led tricool fan. am i using the wrong kind of fan?
Is there a difference between a case fan and a cpu fan? (the computer's fan(which is in the front) is placed inside this plastic director thing that goes right into the heatsink. i don't need a new heatsink thingie i just need the fan part.
go to dell 's customer support website and ask the dell geeks there they will tell you ......thats why dell have a customer support website..... to solve your problems....
