Do you believe that the majority of police officers are on out of control power trips?
I think so.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not against the police. The police are the protectors of the this great constitutional Republic we live in, which is being eroded away from offshore banks and big corporations, but I believe the majority of police officers now are on out of control power trips.
I do believe there are some good police officers out there who want to serve the people, but the majority of them, unfortunately, are on big power trips.
Many are. Police service tends to attract people on power trips and also people who are aimless and have no goals in life. Police departments should do A LOT more in terms of screening people's motivations. Anybody who is there because, "Duh, I just graduated from high school and I don't have any other jobs lines up so I figured, duh, I guess I'll join the cops", should be booted straight out the front door, along with all the frustrated security guards who just want to carry guns and people who want revenge for being picked on in high school.
It's kind of a high calling, and we have a right to be assured that a recruit's motives are something approaching reasonably pure.
