Load current (max) = 89mA
Either IC or discrete regulator can be used in your design.
1 Power switch
1 Fuse 230V, 0.05A
1 230V/18V Transformer (center-tapped) [The C.T. will form the (-) of your power supply]
2 1N4002 diodes (for full wave rectification) [Connect the anode of each diode to one of the transformer windings, connect the cathodes together. The cathode connection forms the (+) supply to the regulator input]
1 1000uF electrolytic capacitor, 25V [between the regulator input and (-)]
1 7805 +5V Regulator
1 0.1uF capacitor, 10V [between output of regulator and (-)]
It's that simple.
