6 questions on new install of thru wall skimmer in above ground metal walled pool.?
Our pool is an older one with no skimmer previously installed we (the homeowner) are going to install a widemouth Hayward skimmer SP1091. Question1) Mid way of face place is the correct water level line on the skimmer weir for it to work properly? 2)The liner is already in pool and full to winter level because we were using on over the wall skimmer.3) What's the best way to cut the hole in the metal without damaging the liner? Were thinking remove the top coping and slightly pull liner away from wall while carefully cutting metal. Then pulling liner back to wall and then cutting liner to exact hole. 4) Does it matter how far away the return outlet is? We were thinking installing skim about 3 feet to the right and angling the outlet to left to circulate water around pool clockwise to skimmer. 5)Any special steps or precautions we should take? 6) Will we be able to put chlorine tabs into skimmer or better off with floating dispenser? Thanks in advance for any help!!!
I will be amazed if you can do this with out trashing the pool.
