At the threshold frequency the energy of the light wave equals to the work required for electron emission:

(h Planck's constant)
=>
f₀ = W / h

= 5.054×10^14s^-1
The kinetic energy of the electrons emitted at higher frequencies are:
E = h·f - W
= h·c/λ - W
(c speed of light)
= 4.135667×10^-15eVs · 2.99792×10^8m/s / 195×10^-9m - 2.09eV
= 4.27eV
= 6.838×10^-19J
E = m·v²/2
=>
v = √(2E/m)
