Fresnel lens - the best parter of infrared rays sensors
Fresnel lenses are generally used as a ray concentrators like conventional convex lenses, but it's much thinner and lighter. For that reason, It has been universally used in taillights or OHP (overhead projector) to concentrate rays of light into focus.
As conventional lenses, most of fresnel lenses are also made of plastic. However, Seoul Precision Optics Co., Ltd.(http://www.spocc.com), a global manufacturer of optical coatings for electronic, optical, lighting and industrial applications, has successfully developed new version of fresnel lenses made of silicon wafer to use it for infrared rays sensors.
Contrary to plastic lenses, wafer lenses can be penetrated by infrared rays so that it can be highly sensitive by concentrating infrared rays in the presence of infrared rays sensors. Infrared rays sensors are generally applied to cars or ear clinical thermometers.
Also Seoul Precision Optics Co., Ltd. has enhanced its functions by using progressive spattering technology suited to micro mini lens, filter coating unlike electronic beam method. Since the performance of the lens can be calculated based on coating degree, it can be controlled as you want and developed up to three times.
