Best option for replacing breaker panel?
I have a 100A CEB main panel and a 60A FPE sub-panel. I am rewiring the house. The sub-panel is not in great shape, and I just found out that FPE has poorly designed breakers and I should not keep using them.
The previous owners of my house didn't do anything according to modern codes. Just sticking to electrical issues, there are all different kinds of breakers in the panel. CEB of Toronto made the panel, but there are breakers from CEB, Cutler-Hammer, Commodore, Sylvania, and Siemens in there. The FPE panel, some of the breakers are falling out. They won't go back in all the way.
Who are the best and worst circuit breaker and residential panel manufacturers in North America? I want to know what I should replace these panels with, or at least which brand of breakers I should get.
Is there a good review site to see how these manufacturers are ranked?
I personally have used square d brand and have had no problems with them.
