Breadboard 3 amps?
Hi a circuit i am designing may have 3 amps going through some parts of it. I am using solderless breadboard. Is this ok or too much? thanks, Tim
Passing 3 amps through the breadboard is fine. What you have to watch out for is that the components that you are delivering the 3 amps to don't overheat and melt the breadboard.
I once had a power transistor with an inadequate heatsink melt my breadboard. Note the heat was generated by the transistor, not the breadboard or its contact with the transistor lead.
