Speed of Light Storage Kingston SSDNow V Series 128 GB SATA 3 GB/s 2.5- Inch Solid State Drive SNV425-S2/128GB
Kingston introduces its second generation SSDNow V solid-state drive to help consumers and organizations of all sizes enhance the performance of computers that have a Serial ATA (SATA) interface and thus extend the lifecycle. SSDNow V drives increase performance with impressive input and output operations per second (IOPS). With higher IOPS than a standar mechanical hard disk drive (HDD), SSDNow V allows for faster boot times and faster application loads than HDDs, ultimately making any user more productive. The SSDNow V consumes less power and generates less heat than a traditional HDD, at a fraction of the cost of a new system. With no moving parts, it can handle demanding conditions and this is perfect for road warriors and those who push the limits of their notebooks. Features include uses MLC NAND flash memory, shock resistant, handles S.M.A.R.T functions. Specs include 200MB/sec sequential read throughput, 160MB/sec write throughput, SATA 1.5GB/sec and 3.0 GB/sec interfaces.
Kingston's 'V Series' of SSD's has gone through a few iterations over the past year. It started out with 64 and 128 GB JMicron 602B drives. After some time, a 40GB model was added, this time with a stripped down version of the Intel G2 controller. That model was shortly discontinued along with the rest of the line. All have been superseded by a new series carrying the same name. These new drives contain controller design which is a hybrid effort by JMicron and Toshiba. We'd been anxiously waiting for new JMicron silicon to materialize and today that wait finally over.

Faster. SSDs drastically improve HDD performance.ssd inside
* Longer lasting. An intelligent algorithm ensures advanced wear-leveling and even usage of the entire flash memory region.
* More reliable. SSDs have a mean time between failures (MTBF) of one million hours. Plus, it provides enhanced data integrity due to its 7-bit error correction code (ECC) and advanced bad block management.
* More robust. With no moving parts, an SSD is more tolerant of extreme shocks, vibrations and temperatures.
* More power efficient. Due to its solid state, an SSD uses less power and therefore emits less heat, reducing data center management costs.
* Noiseless. Reduces ambient noise in data centers and offices.
* More Portable. SSDs' weight is significantly less, making systems much more portable and lighter. This opens the way for new classes of ultra-portable laptop and handheld computers, and new applications.
SSDNow V Series Drive
Kingston introduces its second-generation SSDNow V Series drive to help consumers and organizations of all sizes enhance the performance of computers with a Serial ATA (SATA) interface. By improving a computer's performance and durability, SSDNow V Series drives help increase productivity and extend the life of existing computers.
Adding SSD to a desktop already using a standard hard disk drive is a smart and efficient way to upgrade. Transferring the operating system and applications from the HDD to the SSD allows the SSD to be used as a bootable drive that takes full advantage of Flash-based technology. The SSD and the HDD then co-exist to drive optimal performance in the upgraded desktop.
For notebooks, SSDNow drives are a perfect replacement for hard drives resulting in faster, more reliable performance. Making this change will improve a notebook's efficiency in a wide range of tasks, from booting up to running the most robust operating system and demanding applications.
SSDNow uses a standard SATA interface but, unlike a regular HDD, SSD is very rugged and built with no moving parts, making it ideal for power users and road warriors who push the limits of their notebooks. Other benefits include reduced power usage, less noise and less heat generation.
Kingston's SSDNow V Series offers performance gains and power consumption reductions at a fraction of the cost of a new system. For added peace of mind, they're backed by 24/7 tech support, a three-year warranty and legendary Kingston reliability.
Features:
* Performance – Enhances productivity; makes users more
* Innovative – 2.5″ form factor; uses NAND flash memory components.
* Silent – Runs silent and cool with no moving mechanical parts
* Reliable – Less likely to fail than a standard hard drive
* Shock Resistant – No moving mechanical parts so the SSD handles rougher conditions.
* Shock Resistant – No moving mechanical parts so the SSD handles rougher conditions.
* Supports TRIM – Enhances device wear leveling by eliminating merge operation for all deleted data blocks.
* Supports S.M.A.R.T.
* Guaranteed – 3-year legendary Kingston warranty, 24/7 tech support.
