My GE Spectra Electric Stove did Something Really Weird. Help?!?
I own a GE Spectra Electric Stove. I was planning on baking some brownies. So, naturally, as always, I pushed bake and set the temperature to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Shortly after I set the oven, it made a loud buzzing sound and the inside of the oven got extremely bright and sparks were flying inside the oven. Then, it sorta burned out and stopped. It also tripped the circuit breaker. Is this a power surge, or has anyone else with this type of oven experienced something like this before?
Were you having any electrical storms there or around you at the time? It sounds like a power surge to me. I was in the horrid Missouri ice storm of 2007 and when our power went out with power surges preceding. There were pops and sparks. We turned it in to our homeowners insurance.
