when out house was built we wired for CCTV camera at three points. There are two wire coming out of the wall?
at each camera point. A black one and a white one. They are quite thin wires. I think one my be a power supply and the other a video cable. All 6 cable come out of the wall at our tv. I need help working out what the wires are. Is one a 12v supply for the camera. If that is correct it should be amater of plugging both wires into the camera and the other ends into the 4 ch DVR. Can anyone help.
the six wire are form three cameras in total. Two from each camea.
normaly you would have a coaxial cable for signal (similar to aerial cable) and a two way low voltage wire for power. The coaxial should be easy to identify, but the low voltage needs to be connected to 12V power supply (normally 12V) if the cameras are already fitted you need to make sure the voltage polarity is correct or you will damage the cameras.
Does your DVR have video BNC connectors on the back?
