Using a Multimeter tool to tell Ohm's.?
I'm using a digital multimeter and don't know much about this just trying to figure out how to test to see if my started is bad. it says to set it to R X 10 my tool says 200, 2k, 200k and 20M. what is RX10 and what is RX100 on my tool?
"my started is bad" means what?
the Rx1,x10 etc are for a different type of meter.
if the resistance is between 0 and 200 ohms, use the 200 ohm scale. If it's 200-2000 use the 2k scale, etc. Or connect the resistor and switch ranges until you get a good reading.
