About the Wheatstone bridge (deflection/off-balance method)?
Note: R1, R2, R3 are known fixed resistors. Rx is an unknown variable resistor.

Questions:
*Theoretically: What is the graph of Vb versus Rx where Rx varies from 0 to 400 ohm? What is the graph of Vb versus Rx for small variations around Ro (assume R1=R2=R3=Ro)?
*How could you increase the sensitivity?
*Probably the bridge voltage Vb was not exactly zero for Rx=Ro. What could be the reason for that?
*Give some disadvantages of the deflection method compared with the null method.
*On the front panel of the decade resistor box the tolerance of the resistance in each decade is shown, which is in most cases 1%. What is the use then of having the resistance adjustable with up to 7 digits precision?
Graph - Once you know the Voltage at 'P', you could create a graph comparing 'Q',
'Q' calculated from R3 & Rx.
Sensitivity - Can be increased with a DC amplifier in place of Vb
(fixed amplification, using a feedback loop).
A constant current sources can be used in more than one leg,
but not in series across V0.
As with a balance beam weight scale, Null has the most accuracy.
Vb >0 - Rx not = R3 (R0) (Rx may be wire wound, so it has resistance steps)
7 digit precision - Is used for repeatability, in comparing two different resistances.
A similar circuit can be built using capacitors and V0 = AC, with Vb an AC meter.
