how do you design and test a DC regulated linear power supply for the given specification?
Use a bridge full-wave rectifier in the circuit..
Given specification:
Input voltage = 230AC,50Hz
Output voltage= 5V (fixed)
Load current (max) = 89mA
Either IC or discrete regulator can be used in your design.
i)Prepare a neat report on design concept, simulation and test result
ii)Design should identify the devices used, passive components values for a ripple of 1.5% and circuit connection.
iii)The validity of the circuit should be checked with suitable simulation software and a print out should be provided for the circuit connection and relevant output as evidence.
iv)The circuit should be constructed in a prototype board and tested for line (Vout ~ Vin) and load (Vout ~ Iout) regulation and it should be tabulated on the Lab sheet attached.
First of all use a step down transformer with output of 6.4 volts and output current of 100 mA. Use Capacitors to decrease ripples.
